SASEC IH RESEARCH AND TRAINING NETWORK
The implementation of this ADB funded effort has been successful in making considerable impacts on the policy level of Government authorities as a result of major study on Needs and Readiness Assessment carried out in 2011 regarding ICT-empowered employment in rural communities of the four SASEC countries. The business and educational model used in this project is having major impacts on the poverty reduction and enhancement of employment opportunities for rural communities. Distance Learning, E-payment, E-commerce and Telemedicine applications are being implemented with a unique and sustainable approach.
Distance Education courses have been developed using a Quality Standard proprietary to DARTEC and applied to all four Universities that are developing content. 30 DL courses have been developed in that manner plus similar number of local translations. All DL courses are shared by all four partner institutes through the high speed network.
